Come sit for a while.

We introduce lonely people to someone worth knowing. Our members include older adults living alone, migrant workers far from family, and anyone tired of coming home to a quiet flat. We make every match slowly, and by hand.

People sitting together

About one in four adults worldwide said they had felt lonely for much of the previous day. Most of them will not raise it first.

How It Works

Building genuine relationships step by step.

Step 01 - Introduction
Step 02 - Matched by Hand
Step 03 - Set Your Pace

Loneliness rarely announces itself. It usually sounds like the word "fine." It can look like a full mailbox and also a phone that stays quiet. Most people living with it never say so first, because nobody asks them a second time. So we ask a second time. Then we pair people up for something small, like a weekly phone call, and step back.

My Story &
Our Community

Story Companion

Hi! My name is Sabrina, and I'm a high school student currently studying in the U.S. I'm originally from Hong Kong, and my journey to creating Evergreen Connections began with a stroll in my neighbourhood park.

Upon chatting with the gardener, whom I've known since my early childhood, I learned that since her husband passed away and her children moved abroad, she had been spending most of her time alone. This conversation stayed with me because with her bright smile and infectious energy, no one would be able to guess the quiet loneliness that consumed her.

As I began volunteering in a local hospital the next summer, I started to pick up on this feeling of loneliness with many of the patients I helped. When asked, all of them insisted that they were fine, but when I suggested that they meet each other, all of them agreed enthusiastically. Now, we have a proud community of 8 members, and I’m excited to see how we’ll continue to grow in the future.
